What Do You Have?
What do you have? Psalm 37:16 says ‘A little that a righteous man has is better than the riches of many wicked.’ So, what do you have? This question is important especially in the current times that we are living in. With Wall Street investments continuing to decline, with the federal government scratching their heads trying to find a solution, and everyday people like us looking for hope; GOD wants you to take inventory of what you already have. Now, many may say to themselves, I only have $2.00 to my name. You may say, with gas prices and grocery prices out of control, I don’t have much. But, GOD wants you to know today, that you should not de-value what you already have. GOD is able to take your little and do great works with it. Let’s use the $2.00 example. If you have just $2.00 and a friend or a stranger happens to mention that they are hungry and have not eaten. GOD, if you allow HIM, can purpose in your heart to take that $2.00, go to McDonald’s, and purchase a burger for $1.00 and a drink for a $1.00. At that moment, GOD took your little and through your obedience, met the need of someone who was hungry. And then, because you were obedient, GOD can use you to bring another soul to the Kingdom. So, what do you have? 2 Kings 4:1-7 speaks of a woman who goes to the prophet Elisha to explain her current financial situation. In verse 2, the prophet Elisha asks her ‘Tell me, what do you have in the house?’ For those that don’t know the story, the woman replied, ‘your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.’ The woman de-valued what she had. Yet, GOD, through the prophet, used what the woman had (the oil) to provide the financial blessing she needed. So, again we ask, what do you have? Because whatever you have right now, with GOD and your obedience, much can be accomplished. I conclude this email with Psalm 37:16 which again says ‘A little that a righteous man has is better than the riches of many wicked.’ So, what do you have?
